Emily Morris began her training in International Kenpo Karate Jujitsu in 2008 in the Dragons program at the age of 5. She started as an assistant instructor in 2015 helping with the lower ranks. She continues to be a student in both Kenpo Karte Jujitsu and Kamishin Ryu Jujitsu. Ms. Morris is a high energy teacher making each class fun and unique and loves making everyone smile.
Professor Robert Austin is the founder of International Kenpo Karate Jujitsu. Professor Austin holds Advanced Black Belt and Instructor Ranking in a variety of martial arts including Kenpo, Jujitsu, Kuntao Silat, Escrima, Go Shin Jitsu, and TaeKwonDo.
Renshi Denning holds the rank of 7th Degree in International Kenpo Karate Jujitsu and 5th Dan in Kamishin Ryu.
Soke Phillip started training in Kamishin Jiu Jitsu in 1969 under Al Church Jr. and is currently the 17th inheritor of the system. Soke Phillip continues to train and teach throughout the United States and Internationally.
Soke Dai has over thirty years of training in Kamishin Ryu and continues to teach Nippon Kobudo Kamishin Ryu Jujitsu, which is a consolidation of several forms of Japanese Jujitsu into a beautiful and powerful Aiki-Jutsu art. It’s characterized by the use of Kuzushi-waza and, off balancing, combined with joint and pressure point manipulation.
Hanshi was introduced to Martial Arts in 1954 when he joined the U.S. Marine Corps and was introduced to hand to hand combat as an MP. After his service in 1958, he was introduced to Kempo and Gung Fu. In 1986, Hanshi merged Kuo-Jen Lu Kung Fu with Mitosi’s Kosho Shori Ryu Kempo, and Gow-Ren-Lu was born. Hanshi Carlson continues to teach and learn throughout Colorado and the United States.
Professor James Muro has been training since the age of five. Holding senior ranks in Danzan Ryu Jujitsu, Kenpo Karate, Shorinji Ryu, and Judo. Professor Muro tranined under the late great Professor John Chow-Hoon. He also studied Decuerdas Eskrima under Grand Master Gilbert Tenio and studied Serrada Eskrima from Professor Juan Eliab. Professor Muro is known for his technical knowlege of the martial arts, he has combined all the various martial arts he has trained in to form a dramatic "island blend" or syle of Ku'i Lima.
Ohana has been wonderful for my son. He is more aware of his body and controls himself better mentally and physically. They drive home the concept of safety and respect. Ohana has become our Family and has a special place in our hearts.
